My Approach
I provide a personalized instructional service tailored to the needs of your child. I strongly believe that making personal connections with the student is key to helping them make academic connections in lessons. Rest assured that I have your child's best interests in mind for each lesson, and I come prepared in a timely manner to make the most of every session.
A professional educator needs to be compassionate, flexible, and understanding of various needs. There is not a one-size-fits-all method when it comes to math. Some students thrive with concrete, visual learning, whereas others prefer the abstract. I have collected many tools in my toolbox over the years of teaching to connect to various learning styles. My aim is to increase confidence and decrease stress!

I speak with parents to learn about the child and how I can best help achieve their goals. Frequency, duration, and rate are all discussed at this time, but confirmed after meeting with the child.
Getting to know the child before getting into academic content not only helps me as the educator in making connections, but also allows for a fun, low-stress introduction for the student.
A plan is created to help map out the steps needed to reach your child's goals. This is shared with the parents and updated weekly, as pre-planning and timely feedback are key components of a great tutoring program
I build a relationship with the student so he/she feels comfortable asking questions and can gain the confidence needed to improve in math. Consistency is critical in keeping our learning momentum going throughout the year. We have fun while learning!
